- Job Title: Market Manager
How would you describe your duties?
I am advancing the evolution of Chinese private entrepreneurs by working with P&G distributors. I'm involved in designing and executing Go-to-Market initiatives that serve the low-income communities worldwide. It feels good to supply products that are truly touching lives and improving life for millions of people.
What has been your most challenging assignment?
As you know, Sichuan Province suffered from a terrible earthquake in May 2008. As a result, some of our distributors lost more than one third of their business. I took over my current role in December of 08 when our business was at a negative growth rate of 99% versus the prior year. I helped set clear priorities and simplified solutions and we were able to turn the business back to a positive growth rate of 102% as of March 2009.
What do you like most about working for P&G?
I now manage more than 20 P&G managers and I like that I'm able to help design a customized career path and self-growth plan for each. Since P&G has such talented individuals worldwide, I feel managing people is always the most challenging and exciting job at P&G.
